Our current California service areas are Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. Tell us which of these you cover in person and whether you also offer virtual support.
Our application and onboarding process asks about your doula training, experience, services, and required documents. Requirements can differ by role and insurance program. Apply to receive the current checklist for your situation.
Yes. Our existing doula guidance allows members to maintain a private practice. Keep your availability current and tell us about commitments that could affect clients you accept through The Birth Companions.
Matching considers a family’s location, requested services, timing, and preferences along with doula profile information and availability. You can review relevant inquiries and decide whether to pursue them. Backup requests depend on the care arrangement and who is available.
The current compensation and commission schedule is provided during onboarding and in your agreement. Rates can differ by role and care type; review the written terms before accepting a client.
The Birth Companions helps with billing for eligible Kaiser visits. Record completed visits in the Kaiser Visit Documentation area of your doula portal and follow the current instructions from our team. Coverage and claim requirements depend on the client’s plan and care.
Payment depends on the applicable agreement, completed care and documentation, and invoice processing. The doula portal has a My Invoices area where you can review your invoices. Ask the team about a specific claim or payment timeline.
Our doula collective offers mentorship and a network for backup support. The arrangement available to you depends on your role, location, and the clients you serve; ask the team during onboarding.
Use Calendar & Interviews for interview times and the profile settings in your doula portal for service areas and profile details. Save changes so matching information stays current.
