About Lanie M.

I’ve always been passionate about all things birth and baby, but it wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I truly felt called to this work. After my own journey into parenthood, I became certified as a Postpartum Doula. With my background in teaching, counseling, and child care, supporting families during this tender season feels like such a natural fit. I’m also certified as a Lactation Counselor and Pediatric Sleep Consultant, and over the years I’ve had the joy of walking alongside more than 150 families as they adjust to life with a new baby. I’m a mom of three (9, 9, and 6 years old), and I know firsthand how life-changing—and sometimes overwhelming—this transition can be. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and spent five years teaching elementary school before becoming a doula. These days, in addition to my work with families, I also teach the Postpartum Planning and Newborn Care Education class at The Nesting Spot. When I’m not supporting families, you can usually find me running, enjoying a good cup of coffee, or spending time with my dogs.
